Resilient in Loneliness

It may seem like an oxymoron to talk about loneliness in the most digitally connected age the world has ever known, but we all know that on the other side of the flatscreen people are feeling lonely now more than ever. In fact, it is so bad that earlier this year the Surgeon General put out a guide describing the "loneliness epidemic" that has gripped our society. Until our Lord returns, social isolation, ostracism, and feelings of loneliness are among the afflictions we endure in this sinful world. Satan and the sinful nature use these to drive us into temptation and despair, but we find resilience in the family of God and the fellowship of believers.
