Resilient Among Enemies
As children of God we are called to live at peace with all people (Heb. 12:14), to love our enemies (Matt. 5:44-45), to turn the other cheek (Matt. 5:39), and refrain from revenge (Rom. 12:19). In short, we are to live in the humility, gentleness, and kindness modeled by Christ so that the gospel message is attractive to all. While we are to live our faith boldly, we should not be aggressors. However, Scripture describes God's people living as sheep among wolves. The devil and the world hate us because of our confession of Christ as Savior (Matt. 10:22). So we live in the midst of enemies, who possess more worldly power than we with fewer qualms of how to use it. Some of our fiercest enemies can be those closest to us. Join us as we look to God's Word on how to stay confident, strong, and hopeful amid their relentless attacks.
