Jennifer Tripp has a bachelor’s degree from Winona State and a K-12 reading license from Hamline University.  She has over 30 years of diverse teaching experiences.  Jennifer served in the preschool teacher role for over half of these years.  She is trained in the Orton-Gillingham, multi-sensory approach to teaching reading.

Mrs. Amy Rau, Ascension’s Assistant teacher has a bachelor’s degree in Therapeutic Recreation from Minnesota State University, Mankato. She has 15 years experience in a children’s hospital as part of the Therapeutic Recreation/Child Life Department. Amy has been our assistant teacher since 2011.

Amy and her husband have two daughters and are members of Ascension. 

Mrs. Andrea Cherney is Ascension’s 3 year old teacher. She graduated from Martin Luther College in 2011 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. Before arriving at Ascension, Andrea was director and teacher of Redeemer Lutheran Preschool in Yakima, Washington. She is passionate about early learning and loves bringing messy play into the classroom!

Mrs. Olson and her family moved to Plymouth in 2002 from Grand Forks, ND.  She spent 10+ years in home childcare, before changing career paths into retail management.  After 14 years, she transitioned back into childcare, this time as a certified preschool teacher’s aide.  In 2023 she joined the staff at Ascension Lutheran Preschool.

Sheila and her husband are members of Ascension Lutheran church and have 2 grown children and 1 grandchild.
