Followers of Christ are Armed for Battle

Why do we come to worship? Why have Bible study for young and old? We come to praise and thank our God and receive his grace, but in the process he also fortifies us and equips us for battle. We know that it is a spiritual battle out there every day, every week. The devil and his evil allies are constantly attacking us, trying to wear us down. These spiritual enemies want to do more than kill us, they want to claim us for eternity. But here's the good news: Christ has already called you and me as his own. Through his Word and Sacraments we are reenergized, restored, and equipped to go out again and fight this war. Followers of Christ are armed for the battle that he has won!
