The Young Synod Embraces Confessionalism

Our synodical founders were passionate about ministering to German immigrants but not as committed to Christian doctrine and the Lutheran Confessions. By God's grace WELS was guided to a firmer conviction and began expanding our fellowship and dedicating resources to pastor and teacher training.
