While Jesus always spoke the truth in love from God in heaven, not everything he said is simple to understand and none of it is easy to live. Often his heavenly teachings are totally opposite of our earthly way of looking at things, which makes his words confusing and controversial and therefore ripe for distortion by our sinful nature and manipulation by the world.
