Catechism

“TRAIN A CHILD IN THE WAY HE SHOULD go, AND WHEN HE IS OLD HE WILL NOT DEPART FROM IT”.

Proverbs 22:6

Sunday Mornings 10:45 - 11:45 am

The word confirmation means "strengthening" -- a spiritual strengthening that comes through thorough study and application of God's Word.  As children transition from being children to young adults it is crucial that their worldview be shaped by God's Word so they can see themselves, the world, and their place in the world from God's perspective.
Catechism teaches the basics of Christian doctrine as included in Luther's Small Catechism.
Beginning in 2014-15 the Ascension Board of Education has decided to add a third year of Catechism instruction with the goal of improving Biblical literacy among our youth by studying the Bible narratives (stories) that reinforce the six parts of the Catechism.
All kids grades 6-8 are invited to attend these three years of instruction.
